Use the prototype to answer specific questions
Define whether the first parts will be used for assembly checks, functional evaluation or approval of the manufacturing approach. Identify the features that must represent the final design and explain any planned revisions.
Prepare for repeat production
- Freeze the agreed model and drawing revision
- Confirm material, finish and inspection requirements
- Review batch quantity, marking and packaging
- Record changes before the next manufacturing run
Build a useful quotation request
Include both the initial quantity and any anticipated follow-up volume. A shared understanding of the acceptance criteria helps keep engineering review, quotation and subsequent production aligned.
